Here are some of the most common questions.
  1. Do we need a fishing license?  Yes. You will need a fresh water license to fish the marsh or Garcia
  2. Do we need to bring our fishing gear? No. We provide all the gear that you need. If you are going to fish artificial bait all day and have your own equipment that you like then you can bring it with you. I usually limit the amount of rod and reels to 2 per person
  3. What about rain gear in case of incumbent weather? You will need to bring your own. I have some in the boat but not enough for everyone.
  4. What about food? You will need to bring you something to eat during the day along with soft drinks. I have water on the boat for you to drink if you want it.
  5. Can we keep the fish we catch? The crappie is no problem on either lake , bass in the stick marsh is catch and release only, Garcia you can keep the bass in this lake up to the state limit of 5 which must be over 14 inches. We like to encourage catch and release on bass when at all possible.

What to fish with?

Should we fish with artificial or live bait?

Live bait is some times the best to catch that trophy fish on. More bass over 10 lb come on shiners than on artificial bait. This is your choice, If you fish a lot of artificial lures it should be no trouble catching fish. If you don't fish that much the live bait is the way to go or if your goal is to catch the biggest you can then live bait is the best.

I have been throwing artificial baits for over 30 years and generally prefere them. Although the live bait bite can be verry exciting.
